Dave Halabisky, well known for his work in Antizario (Ropeadope Records) and Sadie Hell, will release a companion record to his debut solo album “State of Emergency” by Halabisky’s Uprising (2009), titled “Halabisky’s Uprising Live” through Uprising Records on Aug 10, 2010. “State of Emergency” features 3x Juno Award winner Moka Only, Juno Award nominee Amalia Townsend and more, and includes the single and video “More/Less” with Moka Only. “Halabisky’s Uprising Live” was recorded throughout the State of Emergency Tour, which included opening for Moka Only and playing as his backing band and a blistering show at NXNE. “Live” features new versions of several tracks from “State of Emergency” plus some new material. These performances feature Dave Halabisky (saxophone, effects), Brent Weatherall (vocals, bass), Matt Aston (drumkit, vocals), Ashkan Shabnavard (guitar) and Stuart Rutherford (guitar, effects). “Live” is a celebration of live music with no overdubs, no re-dos and no edits. It captures four musicians on stage, creating and interacting with each other and sharing this process with an audience. This is live music at it’s best -- songs were played differently each night and each show was unique.
