简介
If you're Jewish, you've probably grown up with the same Christmas experience year after year. Local radio barrages the listening public with a similar holiday experience, causing a broadcast overkill of references to reindeer and a certain fat bearded guy. "I Made It Out of Clay" has been released to settle the score. Thanks to 16-year-old rabid indiepop enthusiast Shirley Braha, Jewish indie-rock enthusiasts can rejoice with the world's first Indiepop Hanukkah album. Released on Braha's Little Shirley Beans label, these twenty tracks worth of juicy pop gems have a topical range, from "Verhanukkah," a parody of Elvis Costello's "Veronica" by Kisswhistle, and "Menorah Mall" by Winterbrief, a slap at the commericialization of the holiday, to Metronome trying to bridge the religious gap for his "Hanukkah Girl." The majority of tunes here are sprightly listens with a common Hanukkah thread. "It's so great that everyone who celebrates Christmas (like me) has to be jealous. A really really great indie pop compilation regardless of what time of year it is."- BigOrangeCrayon.com, 1999
