Steve works out of his studio in Charlestown, R.I., writing, producing, and doing all the instrumentation on every song. A lifelong music maker, he enjoys working with different vocalists to make every song sound a little bit different along with doing vocals on a few tracks himself. Nyisha Conry and Paula Elser Clare are two of Steve's favorite female vocalists and are present throughout the album. Nyisha has an amazingly rich and special voice true to her gospel background, and Paula's singing covers a range of emotions as she sings from her heart and brings herself into character for each song. For the pop rap funk song, That Was Yesterday, Steve brought in two of his talented sons, John and Dave, on vocals. They are musicians in their own right, and drummer and keyboard players in their own band, Haze. Most of the tunes on this album are relatively new, but instrumental, Enchanted was written years ago and re-recorded at his wife's request. It is a hauntingly beautiful cinematic piece, and, her favorite. This album is a chance to sample a variety of Steve's music and the collection features everything from light rock and pop to more jazzy and funk numbers.
