As an artist, I have produced CDs for other artists and helped coach them in the art of songwriting. "Golden Wings" puts my musical philosophies to the test. Is there an array of songs to challenge the listener's musical ear and sense of emotions? Are the tunes crafted smartly to engage the listener to keep following the story line? Does one song flow easily to next throughout the album? I believe the answers to all these questions to be "Yes!" in the case of this album. The title cut is one has touched many deeply and has captured the feeling of losing someone dear. "Janey's Story" has several twists, each one drawing the listener deeper into the story, like a good novel. Several songs are "feel good" sing-alongs. Musically, the listener is challenged to hear the banjo interplay with an array of instruments including, clarinet, tuba and cello. As one reviewer put it, "an enjoyable musical journey of smartly-crafted songs."
