简介
John Boutté, "The Voice of New Orleans," is back with his first new solo album since "Good Neighbor" in 2008. A mature musical statement by a singer at the absolute peak of his artistry, the album is comprised not only of serious songs that subtly reflect on the legacy of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, but also some danceable, energetic, funky jams with a deep roster of the Crescent City's finest contemporary musicians. The album also showcases brand-new songs from several generations of the city's finest songwriters: Alex McMurray, Paul Sanchez, Dave Bartholomew, and Allen Toussaint all have previously unreleased songs interpreted here for the first time by Boutté. Additional original writing comes from Boutté, Tom McDermott, and the album's producer, Blake Leyh, who is also the Music Supervisor for HBO's series "Treme" which uses Boutté's "Treme Song" as it's theme.
