Recording a live album is like taking a picture. It's an attempt to capture a moment; to bring the emotions and hearts of everyone present together with one focus. While we were preparing for this recording, our minds were filled with many questions: "Who will show up?", "How many will show up?", "What will working with the recording engineer, camera operators, and venue be like?, "Are we prepared musically, technically, and spiritually?", "Will this be a night of reflection or celebration?"

When the evening came to a close and all the questions were put to rest, we felt truly blessed. What became of that night was very unexpected. We had many friends who came from various walks of life: some were familiar with a place of worship and others weren't. There were people who were young in their faith and others who were very wise and still others who held no faith at all. Some people were clinging to their faith, some were complacent in their faith and others were searching for faith. Each person's life was shaped differently in unique and beautiful ways.

On our journey through life, our own shape is always changing through our experiences. We are shaped with each decision we make and by allowing God to continually transform us. That night was an expression of all our different shapes and the unexpectedness of God at work. When we look back on everything that has happened to Atlantic, all we can say is "this was unexpected."
