简介

ComputeHer is Michelle. Michelle uses many classic video game consoles and computers to make outrageously intricate toe-tapping music! Many of the instruments she uses are toys she grew up with, like: Game Boy (the Grey Classic), Commodore 64, Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari 2600, Speak n spell, and more! ComputeHer’s music creates an atmosphere of fun and excitement that anyone, of any age, can enjoy! ComputeHer has just delivered her 1st Audio/CD release, in the form of a Limited Edition Album! Simply titled, “Data Bass”, her debut release will both surprise and delight anyone who enjoys chiptunes and micromusic alike! Her debut CD album “Data Bass” is a hand crafted original 5 ¼ inch floppy disk. Each CD is made by ComputeHer, herself. It IS a CD, but it's made to look like a vintage floppy disk. You do not play it in your computer, but in your CD player, like any other CD. Each "disk" has a numbered, limited edition, collector's sleeve. In addition to the 11 songs of the album itself, it has 3 bonus tracks only available with this limited edition release! There are only 500 copies made, so get yours today! Each CD is just $14.95 USD. Again, this is an audio CD and not a floppy disk for your computer. :] ComputeHer's credits include: ComputeHer released a song called Sysop for the DVD titled, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. It is on the juke box on the menu of the dvd. ComputeHer collaborated with Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo and Mutato Muzika making sound FX for video games. You can also find more interviews and reviews on her website www.computeher.net Michelle has been quoted as saying: "I love making music with my Game Boy! I have always loved playing the old games from the 1980s! Some of my favorite games are Burger Time, Little Computer People, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Pitfall, Silo64, Maniac Mansion, Mission Impossible, Space Taxi & Caveman Ughlympics. I grew up playing the Commodore 64, Intellivision, NES and Game Boy so I've always been partial to the older game systems. I do play on the newer systems. Some of the games I play are Animal Crossing, The Sims and Chibi Robo and I recently fell in love with the Xbox 360...but my heart is still with the 1980s games! :]" ~ComputeHer CDBaby recently featured ComputeHer on their home page and had this to say : "Forget electronic music, here's computer pop. While the bulk of the initial appeal lies in the chip tunes' ability to conjure up lazy summer days spent getting Mario past the Koopa Troopas, this lady is pretty smart about it; there are some stand-alone songs here. The digital songstress, known only as "Michelle," has deconstructed tons of sounds you remember from such classic gadgets as Speak'n'Spell, the ol' Commodore 64, Atari 2600, and the original gray NES (and Game Boy!), and pieced them all together into a veritable symphony of nostalgia through robot pop songs. Sure, it's entertaining for those of us who remember what 8-bit graphics looked like (...especially those of us who might just have an ancient stack of ColecoVision and Atari cartridges waiting for us at home at the end of the day... ahem...), but these are great little pop tunes ready for anyone ready to dance." -CDBaby www.computeher.net www.myspace.com/computeher
