The pieces on Attuned were carefully chosen and reflect Gillian Boucher's background having been raised on Cape Breton Island, an area culturally rich in Scottish music, and her love of Irish music. The two styles are seamlessly blended in her fresh approach to traditional tunes and the intimate conversation between both fiddle and the guitar reflects the close relationship and long-time musical partnership of both players. Mark Currie on bodhran adds a percussive and authentic element to selected tracks. Attuned follows the release of Gillian's critically acclaimed and award-winning album Elemental recorded by CBC in 2008.
