简介
For many years I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the finest musicians and singers on the planet but I rarely used my main gift. I was first given the gift to play piano, and started singing many years later. When I was 40 years old, my friends Thom and Tina Hardy gave me the Yamaha Console shown on the cover of this project. I received the gift to write as soon as the piano was delivered to our home. And most of the songs I’ve written or co-wrote were finished here in my own living room. I am very thankful for the projects that preceded this one, but I’ve always wanted to do something that was very simple and more intimate. I’m more comfortable just playing and worshiping the Lord at home than being in front of an audience. I wish you could hear some of the melodies that I receive during my private worship time. I sometimes say, “Father God, that one was just for You, and if no one ever hears it, I’m ok with that.” Some of these songs have been stored in my piano bench for years and some are brand new. For instance, “Rest In Me” was written while I was visiting Spring Harvest in Great Britain back in the ‘80’s. Some of the newer songs are a reflection of my personal journey through illness and other life issues. The title cut, “Change Me” is a very personal prayer while I was crying out to God to change someone else. I heard very clearly, “Stop trying to change them, I want you to change.” The songs, “You Will Never Leave Me” and “Wrap Me In Your Grace”, have been a source of encouragement to me through many difficult days and nights. My personal favorite, “I Just Want To Worship You” was finished as we were recording it live in the studio. I do not have the words to describe the emotion we felt that morning. I hope you can sense what was happening as the Lord was healing some old wounds and helping us to see clearly how the lust for fame can affect you. So all you “Hungry Hearts”, please “Come Away” with me again as we sit at His feet and worship! _________________________________________ "Come Away" is available through CD Baby, iTunes and other digital outlets.
