Born in Trinidad, Soyer remembers growing up with the dream of becoming as successful as Michael Jackson, Boys II Men and Jodeci. After singing with Grant, he was almost certain that that's what he wanted to do, to become a successful Rhythm and Blues star. Nigel's ambition soon changed.
