简介
I moved Greenville, NC to take a job 12 years ago. Now raising a new family but still writing and performing. Before this I spent a few years in Charleston, SC where I fell in love with the city and the people. It was in Charleston that I learned the value of playing covers in front of a packed house. The hardest lesson to learn is humility and I majored in that. There're some great musicians out there, and I'm amazed they allowed me to join them in performing as long as I was there. I'm originally from Savannah, Ga. For a short time I guess I felt like a big fish in a small pond (ego). I was a music teacher there in the public schools for 10 years. I also played in a few bands with some of the best musicians that I'll ever meet. Dorian Grey was one of the first bands that I played with. We wrote pretty much everything, did a few ruff recordings and worked as the "house band" at one of the best clubs in town. This meant that when Steve had a cancellation at the last minute and didn't want to pay more then $75 - $100 he called us. We really didn't mind much, well, not at first. We were playing our music in front of everyone at the best club. We would usually stack the audience by calling all of our friends to get them to come out. We would make it our own big party. This was mostly done by Toby and his sisters. After Dorian Grey, I went solo still calling on Randy, Manson and Pat. The miracle is that they would keep doing this in the worst circumstances and for the worst money out there. Later, it was just Randy and myself with a percussion flavor of the month (who was ever available at the time for cheap, thanks guys). I did have a little success with my CD "CRY" being played on over 63 stations in 23 states. This only lasted a short time, I didn't travel enough to really promote it and that's when I moved to Chuck Town. So, that brings me back to now. I still write, record and perform. I just do it at a little slower pace. I've met some really good musicians here in Greenville. Seems like the covers are the way to go to get noticed. Especially 80's and Beach music. I'm not much into either of those so I don't play quite as much as before. But don't give up yet. Keep an ear out and if we get the chance, I hope I can play for you soon.
