Er-Gene Kahng’s performances have been described as sporting a sweet warm tone and a caressing sense of phrase, translat[ing] the music into a meaningful musical discourse that few virtuosi accomplish; her beautiful tone and honest musicianship have marked her performances with a fresh communicative air.   

Er-Gene currently serves as the Associate Professor of Violin and Director of Graduate Advising at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She is a member of the Fort Smith Symphony, and previously held the Concertmaster position with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra and the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.  

Er-Gene co-founded the Fulbright Summer Chamber Music festival, held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She has previously served as violin faculty at the Montecito International Music Festival in Riverside, CA, the Beverly Hills International Music Festival, and the Bay View Music Festival.   

This recording was the result of Er-Gene’s Arkansas Visiting Fellowship at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England.
