At the end of the winter in 2009, Mathijs Leeuwis released his second album, ‘Klei, Stront En Zand’. A complete Dutch-written album, meaning ‘Clay, sh*t and sand’, where he writes about embittered old men, scared girls, an overflow of liquor and the Dutch countryside. Mathijs has arranged some skilfull musicians around him. Along with his dark smoky voice, the overall sound can be classified as ginuine, deep and full of compassion.
