简介

We live in dangerous times. Christianity is under attack from enemies at home and abroad. Many of you want to stand up and do your part, but you don't have the right tunes to carry you thru the battle. What you need is some righteous music with a little edge, and powerful lyrics that can stir your faith and help you seize the victory .You need Exousia... Exousia (ex-oo-see'-ah), the Greek word meaning "authoritative power", is used an amazing 102 times in the New Testament. In the Gospel of Luke, Yeshua (Jesus) says to his disciples, "Behold, I have given you authority (exousia) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you." (Luke 10:19 NAS) Thus, God's people have been given authority over the "powers of darkness" by the Lord Himself. Now that's something to stand up and sing about! Godfire's first full-length album, Exousia, is a mixture of Rock, Pop, Texas-style R&B and Gospel with a touch of Bluegrass and a dash of Reggae thrown in for added spice. At times, the music and production of Exousia sounds slightly "Beatlesque", while at other times the songs get downright funky/edgy à la Stevie Ray Vaughn or Bonnie Raitt. There are also several reverent and worshipful songs, such as Be Free, Waterfall, and Hallelujah Hosanna, which "tug at one's heart-strings" with a child-like innocence. Godfire's lyrics are often bold and outspoken with few punches being pulled. The title-track, Exousia, is a striking collage of sound that seeks to impart timeless wisdom into the listener’s mind, gently mentoring them on how to walk in exousia. Get Up and Walk, tells of a supernatural level of faith that can bring healing to the sick, while also drawing the battle-lines in the realm of spiritual warfare. The 4th track, entitled God is Alive, takes on atheists, the "no-prayer in public school" policy, and finally the entire "backslidden" population, and warns them that "no matter what the world may say of Him, His power won't be denied." In other words, no one escapes Judgment Day. Still, the main theme of Exousia is joy. To be a "child of the Most High King" is a glorious thing! Not By Strength and Blessings are joyful testimonies of redemption and undeserved love, and The Greatest Gift is a splendid Christmas bonus-track. Exousia is a refreshing detour from the typical Christian music scene and is a welcome addition to any spiritual warrior's music collection. May You Walk in Exousia!
