Hey there. My name is Allen Krehbiel, and I'm a singer\songwriter living in the Denver area. I get together with my good friend Josh Holthusen nearly every week to write songs. After writing "More Like A Dad", we realized that this theme was very close to our hearts, and we decided to put together a collection of songs that each of us had written on the subject. Being a Dad is an incredible blessing and an awesome responsibility. So, dads out there, we hope that through the songs on this project, you're encouraged and inspired to give your kids the love that they so desperately need from you. God gave you that title for a reason, so embrace it, and enjoy every minute you have with the ones who call you "Dad"! "More Like A Dad" follows a son from giving his best in a losing effort in little league through the son heading off to college, and the moments in which that the father "never felt more like a dad". "I want to be there then" is an encouragement for every father out there to place importance on the time you have right now with your kids. You are building the memories and influence that your kids will carry with them when you're gone "She's Got My Heart" is a lighthearted tune speaking of a daughter's resemblance to her mother, and the father can't help but give his heart completely to both of them. "Cowboy" has a contemplative campfire feel. A father enjoys his young son's imagination-inspired play, first as a cowboy on his stick horse, then as a Dallas Cowboy in the backyard, understanding that he'll soon grow up and move on. "Miracle" describes a father's plea for his prematurely born son to survive "He's Just Like Me" celebrates the traits that fathers pass on to their kiddos. "Stay Young" is a father's advice to a son that aspires to grow up to be just like dad "When I Look At You" speaks of a father's encouragement and affirmation to a daughter who struggles with lack of confidence in herself. "To Feel You Move" was written when my wife was pregnant with our daughter. As any excited new father-to-be knows, the waiting isn't easy. The song reflects a dad's heart as he anticipates feeling his new daughter move for the first time. "What She Doesn't Know" This world is a scary place as any newscast will confirm. When our kids are young, their mom and dad are their world, representing safety, provision, and love. Soon enough, they'll take on this world, but for a time, we can take on this responsibility, and shelter them from what they don't know. These songs are near and dear to the hearts of both Josh and me, and we hope that you will find them encouraging and inspirational for your own relationships as well. God bless! -Allen
