A successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter culminated in Nikki's latest solo album, Longings, which was released in November 2013. Longings is an artistic leap forward from her self-titled debut solo EP, both musically and lyrically. Through an eclectic group of songs (blending elements of acapella, jazz, pop, r&b, and even drum & bass), Longings points to the fact that every situation we face in life ultimately stirs up a longing for home. Longings is a blend of Jill Scott's silky vocals, Laura Mvula's unique vocal and musical arrangements, and *****'s love of instrumental experimentation. featuring jazz violinist Zach Brock (Snarky Puppy, Stanley Clarke) on "Plea," "Seasons," and "Home" & bassist Michael League (Snarky Puppy) on "Seasons" "Longings has been a journey that has breathes so much life into me as an artist.
