Joshlyn “J’Renee DA Comedy Diva” Witherspoon is a native of Mobile, Alabama. The stage name J’Renee derived from her love of shoes J’Renee after walking around in mother’s shoes as a young girl. She has always been funny since grade school when she found that being the class clown made both her peers and teachers laugh. J’Renee always knew that she was destining to entertain on larger scale even at a young age. J’Renee is original and true to who she is which makes her a great raw talent. J’Renee has the ability to reach her audience with real life situations and put a humorous twist on them. For J’Renee the thought that she could one become a comedienne did not until later.

A J’Renee initial attempt to start the journey in the comedy world was not successful in 2000 when she entered a talent competition but, that did not detour her dreams. Then in January 2009 she decided that was and she made another appearance at another talent competition on the stage of the infamous Club Miami in Mobile, AL. That was a pivotal moment for her and that is when J’Renee was born into the comedy world. J’Renee was not the winner but the embraced the audience with her real in your face routine and she has not looked back. J’Renee became a regular at talent night until it was dissolved in March of 2009. In August 2009 she was given the opportunity to co-host a weekly open MIC until March of 2010. J’Renee has already been given the opportunity to Headline at intimate venue in Birmingham Alabama by the name of Colston Event Hall in 2010 and Goodwill Ministries Church in Mobile, AL in 2011. J’Renee performs at open MICs on a regular local and abroad.
