Laura Rizzotto is a 19-year-old singer originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is also a 7 year trained ballet dancer, a piano and guitar player and a prolific songwriter, with over 40 original songs published, most of them with English lyrics. Laura started performing professionally at the age of 15 and got her first record deal with Universal Music Brazil, one year later. Her debut album "Made in Rio" was released in Brazil, in August, 2011. Laura promoted the album in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, performing with a 6-piece band. She was a guest artist in the main Brazilian TV shows and her first album was extensively featured in the Brazilian media. Her single "Fish Out of Water" was included in the soundtrack of a popular soap opera from Brazil's major TV network, Rede Globo. Laura opened up for former Disney star Demi Lovato, at her major concert in Brazil, for 7,000 people, in April 2012. Shortly after, Laura was offered a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music and moved to Boston to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree. She was placed at Berklee's Dean's list for 3 consecutive semesters and featured live in radio shows and a local TV show, in Boston. In June 2013, Laura was a Brand USA guest artist at the 2013 International Pow Wow Expo, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where she performed for an audience of 6,000 travel delegates from the U.S. and 70 other countries. Laura has recently transferred out of Berklee to CalArts, in California, where she will release her sophomore album, an independent production with 11 original tracks written by herself, 3 of them in collaboration with her 21-year-old brother Lucas. The album was produced in Los Angeles, by Nicolas Farmakalidis, and mastered by Brad Blackwood.
