简介
Mr. Flowers "The Missing Link" Once upon a time music had meaning, songs were carefully engineered, and artists took pride in their work. Unfortunately, the good “ole” days are gone. Today, record labels care more about suing their customers and artists are preoccupied with their clothing lines and sneaker deals. It seems no one wants to simply produce---good music. George Flowers aka “Mr. Flowers”, the artist behind such hits as “No Ball to Me”, "Guidance" and "Made Life", is bringing creativity back to the art-form. This charismatic Jamaican-born Canadian artist produces a distinctly Canadian blend of Reggae, Dancehall and Hip-Hop music. His songs are content powered stories, lyrically sharp and delivered with a mesmerizing style. With more than 50 songs completed and in his state-of-the art music studio, Mr. Flowers is not just a star---he is a star maker! Armed with all the tools to break new production ground, Mr. Flowers is taking music back to the days of Bob Marley---when a song's lyrics were just as important as the beat---and entertaining music lovers was just as important as an artist’s image. About Mr. Flowers Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica and relocated to Toronto, Canada in February, 1973 George Flowers is a product of a close-knit Jamaican family that practices traditional Jamaican values---of hardwork, love for self and love for family. Guided by a strong nurturing mother, Mr. Flowers was given the freedom and independence he needed to explore different cultures. He took advantage of this opportunity by exploring the bright lights of New York City. In New York, Mr. Flowers was introduced to Hip-Hop and R&B, which he fused with his Reggae background to create music with a hybrid Jamaican-Canadian-American styling. Whether it is performing in front of a handful of people or thousands of music lovers, Mr. Flowers is happy to be in front of the microphone and spits pure fire when given the opportunity. Some of his past performances have included: • 2002-2005 - Chair on the United Way Campaign at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto • Feb 28, 2004 – Half time show at Archbishop Romero Catholic Secondary School • Feb 28, 2004 – Irie Food Joint • Feb 29, 2004 – First musical act to perform at Yuk Yuk’s downtown Toronto • March 4, 2004 – HUSH Nightclub • March 4, 2004 – Lyricist Lounge inside Ocean Bay Nightclub • March 19, 2004 – FluxMedia Group concert benefiting The Medical Mission Team at the Hospital for Sick Children Toronto (a team of physicians that travel to third world countries to provide much needed medical treatment to the underprivileged) and Keep A Child Alive (an international AIDS organization that provides children and families with desperately needed ARV medicines) - at The Hooch • April 14, 2004 – HUSH nightclub • June 20 – June 30, 2004 – European promo tour in Berlin, Germany (2B nightclub) • July 1, 2004 – HUSH night club • July 1 – July 31, 2004 – Irie Food Joint every Monday night • September 29, 2004 – Annual Diversity Exchange hosted by My Urban Profile at Lo Rouge Executive Club • May 7, 2005 – FluxMedia Group Save-A-Child concert benefiting The Medical Mission team at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto at Gypsy Co-op • August 27, 2005 – FluxMedia Group Save-A-Child, Cruise-For-Life concert benefiting the Medical Mission Team at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the Herbie Foundation aboard The Mariposa • January – December 2006 – In 2006, Mr. Flowers took a year hiatus to bring to reality one of his lifelong dreams---to give back to the land of his birth, Jamaica, by building a fully functional studio facility. This gave local youth the chance to express themselves artistically---by using creative words and lyrics instead of guns and knives. By the summer of 2006, Mr. Flowers' dream was completed, is now fully operational and is well established as one of the premiere recording studios on the west coast of Jamaica. • February 18, 2007 – Mr. Flowers will be appearing weekly on Loungin’ in the After Party hosted by Dr. Carl Allen on CKLN 88.1FM on Sundays from 1 to 4 • Weekly appearances on UrbanSpace hosted by DJ Tony Barnes on CKLN 88.1FM on Thursdays from 11 to 2 While Mr. Flowers dedicates time to perfecting his craft, he never loses sight of the struggles he has faced.
