Alfonso X, "El Sabio"(The Wise)(1221-1284)was a Castillian christian king who played music and chess along with arabs and jews. Zampogna, conducted by Wouter J. Smekens, performs his wonderful cantigas, songs in Galician language, on original instruments. Unique!: recording in periodic tuning scale. This timeless music has been performed in concert rooms as well as on World Music stages.
