This latest collection of songs for the UK's Rob Halligan is classic troubadour stuff. Saturated with some great guitar work, this mix of songs, from driving roots-rock to contemplative ballads and blues, is a gem of an album. The title track, Love Come Down, kicks in true Springsteenesque style with a stinking horns section and a thumping back line. There's a lot of crowd pleasers such as I Can't Make You Walk, Sunshine On the Hill, Do Justice and Streets Of This Town, that will get you singing the chorus after one listen. The beautiful Fearfully And Wonderfully takes us into new territory but is spellbinding. Pride Of Place is Rob's regular style-wise nod to his hero Billy Bragg. Streets of This Town and Dancing With Seagulls are re-recordings of older songs and have both really raise th gain of what were already two great songs.
