I actually wrote this song many years ago when I was working as a firefighter for the cities of San Carlos & Belmont, and a member of the San Mateo County Hazardous Material Response Team. I thought it would be kind of cool to write an anthem for not only our HAZMAT team, but for all HAZMAT teams and other first responders everywhere. In the song, I tell a story about just one of the many types of chemical calls we had responded to over the years. Many of the people I worked with loved this song, and suggested that I get it professionally recorded. I finally decided to go ahead and do that, and get it out there where it can be enjoyed by anyone with a good sense of humor, and that can relate to the story line of the song. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I have writing it and watching it blossom musically in the recording studio.
