简介
DAT DUDE It hasn’t even been a year yet and this artist has been a ground breaker in the music industry. Dat Dude, born Robert Stafford Jr., lived up to his name this past year by accomplishing more than most artist have in three to four years. The first song he ever wrote went to radio air time within the first month of its release. 102 Jams’ DJ Chino played “Claim Your City” back in April of 2007. Since then, Dat Dude has had one accomplishment after another. There is no end to this powerhouses’ goal insight. Recent opening acts from the likes of 3 6 Mafia, Young Joc, Pastor Troy, and Little Boosie to 1st Place winnings in several showcases has helped catapult his career. This former promoter, now innovative artist, has decided to invest his money in his own career. Promoting one self is an art form Dat Dude has perfected. Being a former promoter has allowed him to utilize those skills needed as an artist. Knowing key individuals in the local promoting arena also is a benefit he has maximized successfully so far. Mercedes Streets of Ozone Magazine, also the Director of Promotions for Core DJ’s, has helped Dat Dudes’ promotion campaign immensely. Other instrumental promotion companies are Frontline Promotions, Dogman Ent., Word on the Streets, and Strong Arm Promotions. Other avenues for marketing became available for the artist in December of 2007 when “Fesho” Clothing based out of Atlanta, Georgia signed Dat Dude to be a spokes model for the company. You can find him in Fesho Clothing catalog this season. Dat Dude believes he can be successful in the rap game for several reasons. Besides the fact that he can produce 7 to 10 albums without breaking a sweat, he has shown he is not afraid of hard work. He also has no beef with anyone in the music industry so far plus he is a natural people person. Dat Dude also has a unforgettable name. Where did the name come from originally??? Whenever Robert would socialize and “run the streets” with his boys people would point him out as “Dat Dude”. Mainly because he was an Oakridge High School All American Basketball star. Dat Dude was able to turn this natural talent into an education through a full college scholarship. He balanced being a student (receiving his Masters in Criminal Justice) and living the night life with his friends on the streets. Not many people can pull that off. Only that Dude with the drive, ambition, and determination can pull off two very different lifestyles at the same time. This has become one of his best qualities as an artist. Dude started promoting different shows and concerts at night club venues. While balancing a full time career with the City of Orlando, and there after the Department of Juvenile Justice, he actively pursued a career in promotions at the same time. Dat Dude also acted as an infrastructure Financer by showing investors different ways to receive a nice return back on investments. After $30,000 was spent promoting a local rap group that fell short of ambition; he thought about promoting his own music. By the next month he had written several songs and decided to record them. The sound was liked by the streets and the rest is history. The music the artist known as Dat Dude creates can be described as exciting and unique. Many compare his music to Ludicris and T.I. all in one package. He has the attitude of T.I. and the lyrics of Ludicris. He would love to collaborate with Mary J Blige, Young Jeezy, and Alicia Keys in the future. And once he is signed to a profitable record deal he wants to expand Dat Dude Enterprises to include his own clothing line and work towards opening his own academy for troubled youth.
