Author Carol Maier and composer Caleb Cameron have been working on a multigenerational collaboration, “For the Soldiers”, over the past year. Sherwood Park resident, Carol, 72, originally penned the lyrics from a desire to have a song that truly represents the Canadian soldiers’ experience. Through a “serendipitous” connection she was introduced to Caleb Cameron, a 19 year old composer and music student who arranged and recorded the music in his Red Deer studio. Their contemporary anthem features the vocals of accomplished singer-songwriter Bob Halligan Jr., from Syracuse, New York. All proceeds raised from the sale of their song go to support the families of Canadian troops.
