With his gruff, grimy vocals and the pulsing beat of the cajon he sits on and thumps with his heel, The Old Man's music creates a raw acoustic groove that comes on like a thick and ominous fog. His songs tell tales of a world filled with wild animals, hard drinking, and danger around every corner. One gets a sense when listening to The Old Man that a hoodoo hex is being placed on them, and the primal beat is hypnotically drawing them deeper into its trappings.
