Traditional Armenian folk music comes to life anew with unique arrangements and inspiring performances by several diaspora Armenian artists, including Hooshere (New York), Serouj Baghdassarian (Paris) and Diana Sanders (Los Angeles). The soundtrack underscores the emotional, personal stories of the heroines featured throughout the film, and brings to life the profound pain--as well as the hope--of the collective Armenian people around the world, all descendants of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in 1915. The first genocide of the century was perpetrated by the Turkish government and is still being actively denied by modern day Turkey. 1.5 million Armenians perished, but the film artfully shines a light on the many courageous women, both Armenian and non-Armenian alike, who helped save countless lives during the atrocities and instilled hope in those who miraculously survived against all odds.
