简介

About 108 names In the summer of 2003, I went to the small Mundekulla Festival in Småland, Sweden. At this festival there is a lot of beautiful singing going on, and there I met Radha Kumari, a woman with the same passion and devotion to bhajan/kirtan as I have and with an amazing voice! We sang together, and we found happiness in singing and playing together. There and then the idea of making a CD was born. The following year brought with it difficult choices for me, and I had to move several times. Also Radha Kumari and her family found a new place to live. Still, we kept in touch and finally managed to get together to record the CD in an apartment in Jönköping, Sweden, Spring 2004. Since then, the CD has spread far and wide and many of the songs have been recorded by other artists based on our versions of the songs. We chose to stay quite close to how we learned them and keep them acoustic the way they are usually performed in temples or around campfires in India and around the world. "108 names" consists of 10 simple Indian songs for sing-along. This way at singing is called bhajan or kirtan. In the West we may call it song meditation as we often turn inwards while singing sinking back into silence and meditation in between the songs. The words are for the most part names of Indian Gods representing higher qualities such as wisdom, clarity and love. It is not important to understand the words as these songs and the vibration they carry speak directly to the Heart. Please sing along and enjoy!!! Satyam Shivam Sundaram - Truth, Bliss and Beauty Vasudev About Vasudev Vasudev has a passion for people and music!
