简介
by Jim Brenholts \rMother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Co. might be the world's first all-synthesizer band. The bandmembers have billed themselves as such, in any case. Of course, that designation is for posterity's purpose anyway; whatever the case may be, David Borden , Steve Drews , and Amy Fisher created an original and unique sound with the release of Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Co. in 1970. This album was so far ahead of its time that it was considered avant-garde and revolutionary when it was released. Under the scrutiny of the new millennium digital domain, it remains a fantastic set of cutting-edge music, still fresh and alive with its serious atmospheres and grand walls of sound. This album came out when the bandmembers were living and working in Ithaca, NY. They were Robert Moog 's house band at his synthesizer factory in that city. The entire album is available today as part of 1970-1973 on the Cuneiform label. \rEaster was recorded at the R.A. Moog Co.
