I begin this CD with an introduction and the scripture, Psalm 121:1-8; which has been my inspiration and the reason why I sing. I wrote all but one song on this album. Each song has a message of overcoming trials and tribulations that many people must face. I wrote the song, "Real" when I was tested by God and my faith was at an all time low. Just when I thought all hope was gone, God healed me of cancer and brought me out of darkness. I have to spread the word that God is real because God has always come through for me. The next song, "Abide in Me" was written as a message to inspire the idea that God dwells in all of us if we are willing to receive His will and follow His ways. "God is good", is a testimony of God's grace and mercy operating in my life. When we are in God's presence and aware of God's favor, we can then understand why God is good. In this song, I explain God's goodness which operates in my live each day. The next song I wrote was, "Take my hand". This song is my conversation, along with my prayer, to God. I ask God to get me through the day, to help me through the pain of chemotherapy treatments & radiation. I ask God to help me financially when I have struggled to pay my bills. It's my plea to God to help me live with the deaths of loved ones and dealing with all the hate and violence that is in this world. The song, "Anointing Take Over", was written by a friend, Steve Dennis. I gladly sang and recorded this song, because I willingly accept God's favor. I ask for God's anointing each day, in order to continue to do his will. This song welcomes God and the Holy Spirit in everything I do, and Steve Dennis captures my very own thoughts and actions in the lyrics of this song. The last song, "Faith", explains what has brought me this far to my destiny. It has always been my destiny to sing, write, play the piano, and minister music to the world. My vision is to encourage everyone to reach their destiny in life; with God all things are possible! All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed.
