"Lorraine is a musical hurricane creating exquisite chaos wherever she storms. A snarling passion fuels this kinetically charged album."-Allen Foster, Songwriter's Monthly "Catch Lorraine Ferro live, she's fierce; she rocks and commands attention....her band is an in-the-groove, dynamic love affair of song, spirit and delicate thunder." -Glyn Emmerson - The Island Ear "On some songs you can almost feel your chest tightening...Lorraine has a great voice...I fell in love with the songwriting...great use of words, and intelligent arrangements" - Michael Allison, Music Dish "Ms. Ferro is a welcome and much needed shining light on the alternative rock music scene, blending intelligent poetry, appropriately awesome musical arrangements, a seemingly effortless stage presence, and a thrilling vocal style. You can't ask for more than to hear it more often...catch her soon, but don't dare miss her." -Jay Burstein, reviewer, GoodTimes Magazine 'Ferrocious' vocalist/songwriter LORRAINE FERRO has been described as "Alanis meets Janis", and compared to Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, and even Patty Griffin. Her powerhouse voice has been featured in: the Philadelphia and Nashville Music Conferences, the Long Island and Hamptons Music Festivals, the 2001 NACA Spring Festival, the Songwriters Hall of Fame Showcases, many colleges, including: Princeton University, NJ, IONA College, NY, Roger Williams U, RI, Coastal College, SC, St. Francis College, PA, among others; the Renaissance Cruise Line, touring Europe and some of the Middle East as headliner; prestigious charts including HITS Magazine's 'Buzzin' Top Twenty' chart, and Ivany's 'Top Twenty One' syndicated column amidst artists Madonna, Melissa Etheridge, and Patty Loveless; numerous magazine, newspaper, internet articles, and interviews by radio stations, and publications, including: KRock 104, WRIV, Singer Magazine, and the North East Times. She is heard regularly on national TV and radio spots, including Folgers, Valtrex, JC Penney, Nabisco, Pillsbury, and was the voice of the Sally Jesse Raphael Show Theme, and has performed live or in the studio with luminaries Billy Joel, Dar Williams, Lesley Gore, Ritchie Blackmore, and Ce Ce Wynans, among others. Her songs have been featured on MTV's "Undressed", as well as many other TV and film projects. Lorraine's CD, "Languishing In Turbulence", is the perfect vehicle for this petite powerhouse. Her music and lyrics touch on deeply personal and emotional themes, from finding the seeds of growth and hope amidst the ashes of post break-up despair ("Thank You"), to fighting back against the misuse of faith, when beliefs are born out of fear rather than love, and used to subvert our true spirituality ("Religion"). Bringing the lyrics home are radio hit melodies, with music that is both brilliant and raw, keeping the listener's heart right on pace with the meaning of the songs. The artist states, "This album was a symbolic gesture of freedom, allowing me to be myself, with all my idiosyncrasies and quirks. It's really about moving on. I realized what I have known all along - that as an artist, when I give myself permission to just be the most me that I can, then I give permission to the whole world to just be who they really are, too." Lorraine claims, "I sing to live, and live to sing!" To that end, she's played innumerable legendary east coast clubs, including The Bottom Line, The Fez, CBGB's, Meow Mix, The Pontiac Grill, and The Saint. Last summer she performed with CDBaby.com's TourBaby Tour, and has played benefits including: the NYC Marathon, GoGirlsMusic Fest at the Hard Rock Café, NYC's Puss N Boots benefit for the Battered Women's Resource Center, and two benefit concerts on September 11th as part of the nationwide September Concert, and to mark the release of a non-profit organization and compilation CD that she founded, Sounds of Hope NYC, raising funds for the children of the victims. Lorraine's newest passion is producing other artists. She's currently working with several rising stars! She also spends her time as a songwriting, vocal, and performance coach for the Songwriters Hall of Fame and with her private students.
