FINN. releases his second record with remixes. As the name suggests, the originals are from his second album The Ayes Will Have It (2005). Calling the songs remixes is, however, an inadequate description. The more general expression interpretation is a better fit, since not all of the adaptations follow the established principle of simply mincing the original sound tracks. The versatile choice of methods on The Nays Will Have It blurs the border between remix and cover version. STEPHANE EICHERS contemplative version of Wrong Side could have been recorded in the woods of Canada in the 1920s. ME SUCCEEDS convert the same piece into a danceable interlude for an indie pop ensemble. REYN puts full thrust onto the guitars on To And Fro. We're hitting hard on the dance floor with PLEMOS permissive interpretation of Electrify, while NUCCINI turns No, I'm Not into meditative bubble gum. AMUNDSON show the flushed dark side of Speculate Speculate (Their debut will be released on Sunday Service sometime this year, btw.) That's about the six tracks on the vinyl 12 inch. It's accompanied with a CD of twelve more interpretations, including true gems by LAWRENCE, NITRADA, BROKEN SPINDLES and others. The Nays Will Have It is not only a treat for FINN-Fans (it is for them, anyway). The collection in its breadth also describes the different ways of dealing with given musical material.
