Since the release of their debut Christmas album "Eventide Lullabye" in 2006, Progressive Celtic Folk group Seasons has built up a Christmas show and repertoire quite unlike anything else around. As they celebrate the sounds of the holidays on their staple instruments of Celtic Harp and Hammered Dulcimer, the five siblings that comprise Seasons are often known to move from Traditional English Carol, to Johnny Marks standard to one of their own Christmas compositions in the space of a three song set. As audiences everywhere have responded overwhelmingly enthusiastically to this defiantly eclectic approach to the Christmas songbook, it is just this same spirit of holiday variety that Seasons brings to their newest Christmas collection and fifth album overall "Joy On High." An album as varied as Christmas Music itself, "Joy On High" takes a jubilantly diverse approach to the holiday cannon, taking no qualms with placing an intricately arranged adaption of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite" right alongside the swing rave-up of "Jingle in The Mood." While there is great variety in the music recorded, the album never fails to feel like a cohesive whole as all songs are brought to new life on the shimmering sounds of the Celtic Harp and Hammered Dulcimer. Alongside these well-known standards, Seasons has also placed two of their own compositions: The gentle "Christmas Night" explores the feelings of Saint Joseph during that very first Christmas, While "Last Dance" pays a tribute to all those who spend the holidays apart from loved ones in service to our country. Both songs are sung beautifully by founding Seasons member Mary-Kate Spring Lee, an award-winning folk artist in her own right. Seasons is comprised of siblings Mary-Kate Spring, Peter Winter, Mary-Teresa Summer, Mary-Grace Autumn, and Mary-Clare Chun Lee. With a sound centered around the Celtic harp and the hammered dulcimer, but also incorporating instruments as diverse as the violin, mandolin, bodrhan, penny whistle, guitar and piano, Seasons creates an exciting and surprising fusion of Celtic, folk, original, and popular music, resulting in a sound that is truly unique. Seasons has recorded multiple CDs, “Eventide Lullabye” (2006) and “Which Way to Dublin Town” (2009), and also collaborated with Mary-Kate on her solo album “Mirabilis” (2010). In March of 2012, Seasons released "Amhrain," a collection of traditional and original Irish Aires. This was followed by the band's return to Christmas music with "Joy On High" (2012). These albums have received national recognition in publications such as Musicmaker’s Magazine, Catholic Digest, Christianity Today, and Grapevine Online, and also have been played on regional and national radio. Their song “The Helmsman,” based on a poem by St. Faustina, was selected as one of the songs on the highly anticipated audio recording of St. Faustina’s Diary (published by Marian Press). Seasons has performed multiple times on television, including EWTN shows Life on the Rock and Dana and Friends as well as on Fox and Friends the early show for Fox News. Seasons has performed in multiple states and countries and has opened for Grammy award-winner Ashley Cleveland, the Celtic-rock band Scythian and Celtic Fiddle Festival. From the Hilton Hotel to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, the JP II Cultural Center to a school assembly, EWTN to Six Flags Great Adventure, Seasons strives to share their musical gifts where ever they can.
