Myscoto, is a phenomenal singer hailing out of the greater Bay Area. She has been performing her own heartfelt music for over 15 years. Her music is a blending of R&B, Gospel, neo soul, jazz and more contemporary classical and current genres with soulful melodies and romantic yet realistic themes. Being born and partially raised in San Francisco, one of the most culturally and musically rich parts of the country, has had an immense affect upon her style and music. Myscoto was heavily influenced by numerous genres of music. At an immensely young age, she knew in her heart that she wanted to be a singer but she was shy, quiet and nervous. She sang in her churches choir but at the age of 13, she sang her very first solo. Needless to say, she blew everyone away by performing awe-inspiring gospel ballad “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. Myscoto, began composing music at an early age and began performing her pieces at talent competitions and also in church. Growing up in a suburb of the Bay Area, Suisun City, she began to cultivate her craft. She worked with a vocal coach in the genres of classical and jazz. Jones, not only performed in church but she began to step out into deeper waters, such as participating in High school talent shows and even ranking highly in and winning them. Her talent created the opportunity for her to accept a college a musical scholarship to South Carolina’s, Benedict College. Myscoto grew up listening to the likes of Jazz great Nancy Wilson, rocker, Kid Rock, the soulful yet smooth, Luther Vangross, the masterful, Sam Cooke, and the powerhouse that is Etta James. These influences have greatly affected her musical stylings and can be recognized in her music. At the tender age of 16, she recorded her first tune, “Stuck on You”. Her early tunes were thoughtful and reflective, yet with an R&B sound. Myscoto’s sound is versatile, eccentric, similar but yet exponentially different. One of her greatest attributes is her storytelling ability, which is displayed for all to hear in her music. Her works contends with the ranks of newest and great entertainers such as: India Aria, Jill Scott, Raheem Devaughn and Tyrese. Being raised by a single parent, along with her sister has created a strong, humble and independent young woman. With a bubbly, ever pleasant and open minded spirit, she endeavored to follow her dream. Adversity has not overshadowed or dulled Myscoto’s shine. After auditioning for American Idol on several different occasions, and being turned away due to her weight and “image”, she did not give up her passion of music. Facing major health issues and dire illness, Myscoto underwent throat surgery, which could have jeopardized her voice. Yet god-willing she underwent the procedures and came out with her voice intact and is ever more determined to work hard to become a household name. She has worked with some immensely talented artist and producers within and out the "BayArea". Nevertheless, Myscoto is currently singing in the Liberty Christian Choir. She is preparing a solo project. The untitled album has a large array of music for the masses. With tracks such as, “New Chick” which chronicles the angst and bittersweet role of being the old girlfriend and seeing the ex with a new love interest, and also “One Night Stand” which chronicles a night at a club in which a female has the mind of a male and only seeks one thing like her male counterpart. The album is a blend of slow music, ballads, fast paced tracks, with Hip Hop and R&B vibes. The album will feature such heavy hitters as: Infamous Kaboo, Salty, Gee the Unknown, reggae artist Prime Minister and Mistah Fab. With a motto like: “I’ll sleep when I am satisfied”, Myscoto will not rest until the world hears her. With activism in her heart and her community on her mind, she will seek to use music as a platform to create a rally in order to empower the people in her communities. Her beautiful voice, paired with her story telling ability and her awesome approach and drive for music will take her to soaring heights and sold out shows.
