简介
by William RuhlmannYoga instructor Wai Lana and her guru, Siddha (short for Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa), came up with the melodies for these tunes, which were realized as musical performances by multi-instrumentalist/arranger/engineer/mixer Eddie Hansen (Harvey Mann performed the same duties on one track, "Seaside"). Lana contributes sung mantras to two tracks, "Moon Among the Stars" and "Lake of Tranquility," while Siddha chants on "Crystal Stream" and "Spiritual Love." The settings vary from "Beyond All Oceans" and "On This Planet," which sound like lost Pink Floyd recordings with their prominent lead guitar work, to "Yi Tribal Dance" and "Call of the Plains," which are based on traditional Chinese music, and "Rain Forest," which draws on ambient sounds. All of this is intended to accompany yoga exercises (in fact, it has been used as background music for Lana's television series and home videos), and it is suitably slow moving and contemplative. But it will also serve as relaxing music for other purposes.
