This CD is a culmination of 2 years of writing and recording Ethnic music with a taste of funk and African/Egyptian dirges. For me this was a spiritual journey into the Mesopotamia Valley and deeper into territories beyond the Cradle of Civilization. The collaboration with the trumpet & guitars was essential to these recordings and Lawrence and Tom added so much color to the stark landscapes I ventured into. After the events in Cairo in 2011, I was so inspired to try to connect with the positive energy of the oppressed people of Egypt and all of the cultures of the dark and mysterious continent, Africa. I have Egyptian roots through my Italian Ancestry; four Pyramids in the Saqqara region of Egypt are named for the Pharaoh/King Teti and his Family;Sixth Dynasty;over 2,000 years before Christ was born. People can change the World & live in Peace. I hope this music challenges the listener and is fruitful. PEACE, A.T...
