One of South East Asias rising stars, Kimo is back on Paper after releases on his own Double Deer and Is It Balearic Recordings. There are four tracks of leftfield nu-school house, balearic and disco stamped with his instantly recognisable imprint. Center Room kicks things off with a buzzing synth and his distinctive use of gamelan-like keys. These get layered up before washing synths and some acid enters the fray. It then drops and starts to build to an ending that is full colour HD wide-screen deep house. Pore slows things down but has the Kimo build and its hypnotic pull steadily draws you in to its world. A wild pitch synth starts to pulse halfway through with hints of Phutures Inside Out as the ebbs and flows work their magic for an eyes closed psychedelic journey. Realm Creation takes things in to even deeper territory with reverbed keys, delayed synths and a rolling acid B-line. Finally Closer features Kallula on vocals and takes a more Balearic line. Slo mo live drums and bass keep things organic as the vocals gets put through the EFX machine, the keyboards trip out then acid burbles and a piano gives it some shimmer.
