简介
Jazzy Droid produces heavy-beats dance music flavored by House, Disco, Dub. Tough-funky-electro rhythms drive big bass-lines, carrying sweet, strong vocal melodies. Driven by Underground beats in a Post-Industrial-Disco, Jazzy Droid produce the heaviest bass-lines that make your body pump with a positive vibe. Fusing House, Disco and Dub with Jazz to provide backing for the mighty voice of Kayla S and the soulful surfer vibe of Jonny Ruddy. No loops used ever. Ever. Dancing is good for the soul and Jazzy Droid brings the dance. Love and Peace to all. Bio: Originally formed in Shanghai in 2008 as an album project, Jazzy Droid is a dance based music production concept re-formed midway through 2013 in Brisbane, Australia by Luke C. Gregory and Brendan McLearie. Jazzy Droid operates according to an ‘Immediate Experience’ production philosophy based around continual re-invention of their material: Incorporating extensive improvisation and real-time ad-hoc arrangements during live-shows and encouraging creative input / modification from both their audience and other artists. Further to this philosophy of continuous development of all their products, Jazzy Droid provide all their finished stem files free to other producers and D.J.’s for remixing. Around June 2013 Jazzy Droid met vocalist Kayla S. They tried each other out in the studio with the results of the first session being the vocal guide track for ‘Slinky’. This is the vocal arrangement used as the main vocal for the release of ‘Slinky’. Kayla S features as primary-front-person for the current Jazzy Droid production schedule. At a short gig in early 2013 Jazzy Droid met Jonny Ruddy whose thoughtful vocals drive Flying Free. Jonny is likely to feature heavily as guest vocalist on future releases and will be seen on stage regularly with Jazzy Droid. Who do they sound like? Here’s a quote: ‘Intelligent Dance… if Incognito and Daft Punk had a child with William Orbit it might sound something like this… if Nile Rogers and Carl Cox helped that child grow up in the school run by Martin Glover and Jah Wobble… being overseen by Lemmy, had he been listening a lot to Hed Kandi.’ But if you ask Luke he’d tell you to just listen to the tunes. The first Jazzy Droid live show occurred August 17th 2013 at The Brunswick Social in Brisbane, Australia. Discography: 2008, August: ‘From the box in The Sky’ E.P. (6 tracks). Label: Lefthouse Recordings. 2013, October: ‘Slinky /Flying Free’ E.P. (7 tracks). Label: Most Loose Goose
