简介

Amber Lynn Nicol (born 29 October 1986 in Neptune, New Jersey) is a North American singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. She has released six studio albums, Beach Day (2011), Broader Horizons (2012), SEVEN (2014), Painted Fish (2015), The Bedroom Sessions (2015), and Endless Summer (2016). Her professional music career began when, sitting at her office desk in 2009, she received a phone call from her friend, “Amber— we want you to come on tour with us and play bass. We’re going to L.A.” Amber (Lynn is her middle name) walked straight into her boss’s office and said, “Hey— I’m going on tour. Be back in a few weeks.” Her boss offered his blessings to the girl who had said in her initial interview two years prior, “My five-year-plan is to be a rockstar.” Upon returning from her first tour, she gratefully declined her boss’s offer to pay for her Accounting B.A. and gave her two-weeks-notice before pulling out her 401k and making her way to Nashville to record her debut album, Beach Day. Beach Day was a well-received, independent breakout EP, praised for its corky, upbeat nature and heartfelt, honesty and malaise. The Beach Day single featured an outro cacophony of Nashville slide guitars, kazoos and whistles, and quickly became a fan favorite as they sang along, “I’ll bring weed if you bring beer, then we won’t need no money will we,” and “I really wish every single say was a beach day.” Nicol founded her own record label and publishing company, Jerzey Girl Music, and began learning the biz. She received notoriety in both her home state of New Jersey as well as her new home city of Tampa, FL. She appeared on Day Time TV and Studio 10. Amber Lynn began performing at local festivals and donating her time towards raising money for benefit concerts and non-profits in the Tampa Bay community. She had made the scary jump from cushy Office Manager to Indie Musician, business owner and she was ready to chase her dreams to the fullest. Armed with savvy, passion, and charisma, Amber Lynn took to social media in 2012 and raised over $6,000 on Kickstarter for the master recording of her second album Broader Horizons, her followup Nashville release and co-production. She was a Tampa Bay Times featured artist, kicked off shows for greats such as Bonnie Raitt, Los Lonely Boys, Melissa Etheridge, and Sara Evans, and quickly became known as a talented, young songstress and singer. Staying true to her most recent lyrics, “I need broader horizons, room to make big plans…” Amber Lynn loaded up her Jeep and set out on the road to build a following out West. She relocated to Northern California, along with her father, and began writing and performing in collaboration with other SF Bay Area artists. She was featured in The Carmel Pine Cone, invited to perform for local festivals and lineups to include four consecutive years at the Gilroy Garlic Festival and venues throughout coastal California, SF to LA. When Amber Lynn returned home to the East Coast in 2014, she raised over $8,000 on Kickstarter to record her third album SEVEN, a departure from her earlier country sound into a more adult, blues influenced flavor. She coined SEVEN her breakup album, unleashing her odes to love and loss, and the seven deadly sins. Her single “Cowboy” caught the attention of producers from both The Voice and America’s Got Talent. Amber Lynn’s career continued to shine, as her “Cowboy” single got picked up by triple A radio stations across the U.S. In 2015, she founded the band Painted Fish, a blues-rock novelty project— fun but short-lived. The band only released one album, but raised over $5,000 on Kickstarter and landed Amber Lynn and her lead guitar player on the America’s Got Talent stage. At the end of 2015, Amber Lynn cut her first ever, self-recorded album, The Bedroom Sessions. The Bedroom Sessions is an acoustic EP featuring coffeeshop style versions of some of Amber Lynn’s earlier works, and featuring two new singles: “Don’t Be Shy” and “Wanting You Every Mile.” The EP was written, recorded and mixed in her home studio. Because of its resemblance to her live-acoustic-performance-sound, it became an instant fan favorite. Both raw and intimate and made to be an enjoyable gift, she gave the album to her fans free of charge during the holiday season of 2015 as a way of saying thank you. In the new year she released it for sale to the public on iTunes and CDBaby. Amber Lynn’s music can be found on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and pretty much all other places music is enjoyed. Her social media and online presence as a distinguished indie artist continue to grow. After releasing The Bedroom Sessions, Amber Lynn decided to take on the challenge of recording her first solo full-sounding LP; and she knew she wanted it to be Pop. She was interested in pushing her creative boundaries and sound, learning more about the art of Audio Engineering, advancing her songstressing and delving into the world of effected sounds. Endless Summer dropped at the end of 2016. The short LP was followed up with music videos for two singles, “Came Here to Dance” and “Set Me Free”— “we can’t be friends ‘cause you broke my heart, we can’t be lovers you ripped my world apart.” Amber Lynn’s passion for music came to fruition once again and the Endless Summer album caught the attention of several EDM producers and fellow Hip Hop artists whom Amber Lynn is currently collaborating with. Her recent single “Came Here to Dance” reached over 40,000 views on YouTube, and her career continues to grow and flourish as an indie artist and entrepreneur. Early Life Amber Lynn was born and raised on the East Coast. Moving frequently as a child and traveling a great deal between Florida, North Carolina, and New Jersey, Amber Lynn and her three younger siblings grew accustomed to being on the road. Both her parents and siblings are musically and artistically inclined, but Amber Lynn was the first to pursue music as a career path. As a child, Amber Lynn danced and did cheerleading for short time. She began singing and writing the moment she could and she has collected dozens of notebooks filled with ideas and song lyrics spanning her entire life to date. “My parents basically let us do whatever we wanted when we were kids,” says Amber, “they supported us. Like for example— we were allowed to draw on the walls.” Personal Life Amber Lynn currently resides in St. Petersburg, FL with her fiancé, Marc Wolfson. Both Amber and Marc enjoy being proactive members of the Tampa Bay community and helping to make the world a nicer, happier place. They love to travel together. As a teenager, Amber Lynn struggled after her parents separated and she moved to Florida from New Jersey. She admits to being a little bit rebellious back in High School, but she’s always found solace and a center in writing, music and art. A firm believer in chasing dreams, she gives private music and songwriting lessons in Tampa Bay, encouraging other to excel and follow their hearts. Artistry, Education and Influences Amber Lynn’s cited influences include Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Carol King, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Janis Joplin, Aerosmith, Queen, Jim Croce, Radio Head, The Offspring, BB King and many others. She admits to loving all genres— everything from Pop to Hip Hop to House to Folk. Amber Lynn says she had been drawn to the EDM pop scene most recently, enjoying artists like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris, Rhianna and Ellie Goulding, Amber Lynn continues to grow and pursue her own artistic goals. Currently she is finishing up her B.A. in English and A.S. in Audio Engineering. Nicol also holds an A.A. in Music/Liberal Arts.
