The works in the third and fourth edition are : Wieniawski Romance , Tchaikovsky Melody , Komitas Krunk , Skoriyk Melody from High Pass , Scriabin Nocturne , Albeniz Tango,Rachmaninov Vocalise , Fibich Poem ,Vlasse Nocturne for Caline and Ravel Pavane pour une infante defunte . Mischa Lefkowitz was born in Riga, Latvia, and began his violin studies at the age of seven and made his debut with a symphony at the age of twelve. At seventeen he was admitted to the Moscow Conservatory to the class of the legendary Leonid Kogan. He has also studied with such renowned master performers as Nathan Milstein, Mischa Mischakoff, Roman Totenburg, Henri Temianka, and with Jean Fournier of the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg, Austria. Lefkowitz was a top prizewinner at the 1983 Carnegie Hall International American Music Competition (co-sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation). He was also the winner of the City of Paris “Music Français” prize from the 1985 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition. Other awards include First Prize at the Rotary International Competition in California and prizes at the Paganini International Competition, the Bach Young Artists Awards, the All-State contest for violin soloists, and the Concertino-Prague Radio Competition. Valeriya Morgovskaya, pianist, a graduate of the Kiev State Conservatory, immigrated to the United States in 1990. Since 1991, she has been the official accompanist of the Piatigorsky Cello Seminar. Ms. Morgovskaya is currently on staff at Loyola Marymount University as an accompanist and is often engaged in that capacity at the University of Southern California and the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts. She has provided accompaniment for many major competitions, including those held in Montréal, Munich, and Paris. Ms. Morgovskaya has performed on the KUSC weekly broadcast concert series “Sundays at Four. Danae Xanthe Vlasse ,pianist,an award winning composer whose music has been featured on international radio broadcasts.She is director of Music Vision Studios ,based in Covina ,California .
