Hailing from the seaside village of Tramore in Waterford, Ireland, The Casanova Wave is the creative outlet of Brian McCartan. Emerging as one of Ireland’s brightest electronic acts in the Autumn of 2010, the ‘shimmering, chiming electro-pop’ on his eponymous debut EP was described by Jim Carroll of The Irish Times as “leaving you wanting more”. It wasn't long before Brian’s unique style of music and stage performances began to enrapture live audiences. His sound is a happy-go-lucky mix of warm electronica with live instrumentation and an array of looped samples - a reflection of summer with melodies that burst with bouncing rhythms, bright guitars and pulsing synths. Named as one of The Irish Times’ 'Best Irish Acts of 2010', Whelan’s ‘Ones to Watch 2011’ and State Magazine’s ‘Faces of 2011’, 2011 was indeed a breakout year for The Casanova Wave with barnstorming appearances at a number of Irish music festivals including Vantastival, Spraoi and Castlepalooza (the latter chose his track The Casanova Wave as the theme track for their 2011 tv and radio advertising campaign) and he has been busying himself in recent months penning his debut album – Joy of Being – (released July 13th 2012).
