Savzilla was born and raised in San Jose, CA. At 25 years old he currently is pursuing a career in the music industry as a solo rap artist. A mixture of new bay area, hardcore rap, as well as rock influence is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the style of music that this artist portrays. His current plans are to open with his debut album “By Reason or by Force” to infiltrate San Jose with his style of music and stage presence. While eventually getting respect and recognition starting with San Jose and moving on to all bay area, California and so on. His first album, which will be released April 23rd, “By Reason or By Force”, is his debut album. From the debut you can expect a various amount of styles as well as genres varying from remakes of classic hits, emotional takes on life, club hits and an overall passion for music itself. The album as a whole is a true look into the artist’s personal life as told through his lyrics and experiences. He has been working on the album for nearly a year and is excited to be able to release his first installment at world famous Improv where he will share the stage with many comic greats. Savzilla has been recording music with various labels for 7 years now and finally decided that a solo album was not only essential it was also long overdue. One of his biggest influences to put out his solo album was from producer and fellow rapper V-boy who has gained attention by putting Redwood City on the map for underground rap/hip hop. His interest in music began at a young age performing in school plays and talent competitions, it seems as if the spotlight called his name. At 16 years old he got into a style of rapping known as “battle rapping” where different MC’s battle each other over beat boxes from surrounding people. Timid at first, he soon took on a lead role performing against other rappers at house parties and eventually hooking up with a local label that would take him under their wing and show him the ropes. While working with his first label (though unsigned) he was taught how to write over beats, how to record as well as the importance of stage presence and selling yourself to the crowd. Savzilla plans on releasing the album and booking performances at local venues for the remainder of 2007. While also self promoting in an effort to gain music recognition locally and by the music industry to jump start his career. Keep an ear out and an eye open.
