From Then to Now… The original sound of East St. Louis is a new breath of fresh air to the stale rap game. Possessing the swagger and style of a multi-platinum superstar, the records to lock down the radio and the clubs, and the rugged punchlines, delivery, and off-the-dome freestyle skills to make the underground heads claim him the next great thing, KevilVageda's got next in 2013. KevilVagedas incarnation took place in East Saint Louis, IL on Friday the 13th, which was an omen for the rough upbringing to follow on the East Side of the Lou. He first heard hip hop through early tapes by LL Cool J, Dougie Fresh and Slick Rick, and The Ghetto Boys. He was inspired by the Golden Era of hip hop where flat tops, trunk gold chains, and African medallions ruled the landscape. It was during this era that KevilVageda began freestyling off the top at the local rec center and in the streets, where the rep began to spread that the young boy could spit. The Turning Point… In 1999 KevilVageda's sister lived in Pensacola, FL. She knew of his talent and introduced him to Johnny Augustus, the first artist on Bodyhead Entertainment. Then later she decided to set up a meeting with the Light Heavy Weight Champion of the world Roy Jones Jr., who at the time was securing distribution for his upstart independent record label BodyHead Entertainment Inc., located in Pensacola, FL. KevilVageda auditioned with a cocky confidence that impressed Roy, which lead to KevilVageda signing a recording deal. .. While signed to the label, KevilVageda performed hundreds of shows throughout the south while lead to a solid buzz for his solo debut on BodyHead. He has opened up for several platinum selling recording artist such as Ying Yang Twins, Lil' John and the East Side Boyz, Slim Thug, Lil Flip, Trina, Mystikal, BG, Mr. Cheeks, The Outlawz and the list goes on. A New Direction… Roy Jones' career and other ventures led to many projects on the label being pushed to the side. Despite the buzz, Roy didn't release albums during that period and the lack of a new album frustrated KevilVageda and his fan base was hungry for new product. Unfortunately, both parties broke ties and went separate ways. After relocating to the Chocolate City DC, KevilVageda has refocused and is taking the tri-state area by telepathic energy. In his own words, "I'm ready to pack all arenas, break all trends and OVER stand all competitors. Y'all s favorite artist probably will no longer be. I m so appropriate for the change, people are burning CDs cause they not buying that b.s. anymore. They want originality. I know cause I'm am a fan. There is a difference between Hip-Hop and rap music and I define them both. I AM exposing just that but it is up to y'all to have an open mind and accept it." KevilVageda has two magnificent marketable albums, Telekinesis and Metamorphoses. The freshman LP, Telekinesis- the ability to move objects by mental power or other non-physical means. "Literally speaking, that's what music is..., so why not push my album to move y'all with the truth." Telekinesis, illustrates a mixture of knowledge, story telling and party anthems through a raw delivery of versatile ill lyrics. The sophomore LP, Metamorphosis- a change in ones form or nature. Metamorphosis, reveals the ..growth.. of KevilVageda. It takes you on a journey of changes in a deeper, lyrical manner with unbelievable metaphors and knockout punch lines. "I exposed the matrix a little more without going over your head even though I'm fly." .. ..Metamorphosis was formatted as if Telekinesis had been released in the past. "When I write its not for a particular time zone.
