Paul Morin is an American born, New York-based composer, contemporary artist and pianist. As a composer he has worked on feature films, Short Films, Live art pieces, theater and radio. The NY Press wrote in a recent article, “Paul Morin takes visitors on a trip through time with music and sound.” In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul Morin is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
Gallery and Studio Magazine wrote in a recent article: “Paul Morin’s art comprised of soft variegated strokes and streaks of vibrant color strike one as notes in a kind of visual music.” Recent projects include The feature film Between the Shades, a live radio show of Dracula, a record for solo piano “succession of images”, a live art work “Static in movements”, along with recording for various short films and concert pieces. Recent public performances and art expositions include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. Being an avid educator, Paul implements master classes in New York and South America. He recently taught master classes in the Performing Arts Conservatory of New York and The Cultural House of Quevedo in Ecuador. He has also been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University where he studied piano under Martin Canin and composition under Justin Dello Joio. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University studying piano under Christina Dahl.
