The Bricklayers are a two-man, multi-insturmental group, comprised of Ryan Ijames and Tolley. The pair have been writing songs together for nearly ten years. The Bricklayers project is the first by the duo since the demise of a previous band. Ijames writes songs on his own and collaborates with the wordsmith Tolley, putting music to his lyrical visions. The group is heavily influneced by those artists they love, such as The Beatles and the solo work of the band members, The Smiths, R.E.M., Radiohead, Jack White, Depeche Mode, New Order, Bob Dylan and several others. The Bricklayers feel one of the things that sets them apart from other bands is their willingness to try almost any new sound and idea in their home studio. The band prides itself on the strength of their songwriting and being able to give the listener both a musical and lyrical experience. Their first release, 'The Addiction EP', is a solid sampling of those ideas and feelings.
