Darrell Simms was born in Florida, Fort Lauderdale. He was raised by a Jamaican mother and Danish father, experiencing his first taste of music at the age of 8 snooping through his mom CD collections and coming across History/Past/Present Michael Jackson album. From there, he started broadening his musical genres stretching all the way to music like Gorillaz, George Michael and Outkast. Growing up in Sweden, Hip hop was never popular but Darrell still managed to start writing lyrics and poetry at 14 after listening to Lil Wayne track " Gossip" In high school, he and his former high school friend started recording and releasing music at the age 18 under a band called Bounteez. Shortly after the group went separated after one project, he released an Ep under the moniker " Boitroy" Shortly after the EP, Darrell looked for success elsewhere and made the move back home to Florida from Helsingborg, Sweden. Early 2015, he released " The First Blink" in January that was dedicated to a friend of his that got diagnosed with leukaemia. The mixtape ranges from a multiple of different styles best reflecting and summarizing Darrells year in 2015. Each song is different and it variates from acoustic to indie pop and Hip Hop. Since then, Darrell has released multiple singles on his soundcloud such as " The Gardens" "Levitate" " and Audi Wilcox." Darrell is now working on his EP called Wilcox Ave that is set to drop close to March. He currently resides in California, Los Angeles working on the project.
