Flourish // Perish is set for release on 20 August and follows on from 2011 Polaris-nominated debut Native Speaker. ‘Amends’ will feature on the record, along with this new cut ‘In Kind’. Braids (usually stylized as BRAIDS) is an art rock band from Calgary, Alberta and presently based in Montreal, Quebec. Braids currently consists of Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Austin Tufts and Taylor Smith. The band members (along with keyboardist Katie Lee) met at a young age and began collaborating in high school. Their debut album Native Speaker was released on January 18, 2011 in Canada and the United States to generally positive reviews. The album was shortlisted for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize.
