Blues专辑介绍：Blues was nine years old when he got his 1st serious taste of Hip Hop music. That’s when he started writing rhymes in the back of his 3rd grade math book. Today, Blues has grown into the kind of artist who is a natural at absorbing the world around him and re-constructing it as sharp yet soulful verse.\rBlues’s first solo release, The Turntable Doctrine, is heavily informed by the “true school’ Hip Hop era of the late 80’s and early 90s – Rakim, Souls of Mischief, Organized Konfusion, A Tribe Called Quest – when lyrical density and verbal dexterity were moving to the forefront of song crafting.\rOn the EP, Blues weaves highly articlulate verse with a tapestry of fuzzy vinyl samples and lo – fi drums. The 1st single, “Just One Night”, featuring Seattle mic-veteran Grynch with production by Seaquintz (Cake and $alad, Bryce Bowden), is a nostalgic track recounting a young emcee’s initial years penning rhymes and speaks to many a wordsmith’s aspirations of playing to adoring crowds, getting wide airplay and achieving euphoric moments on stage.\rAnother standout track, “Snapshots”, speaks about Blues’s adolescent years years in Seattle Delridge neighborhood – before gentrification – when the presence of gangs, drugs and alcoholism were an everyday.
