DJ Macvernon is the producer and co-writer of this song. He was asked to do this song as a sort of “soundtrack” for the book titled ‘Fried Fish’ by author Andre Carter who is also known from co-starring on WE TV’s ‘Braxton Family Values’. Although Go-Go music differs from the usual genre of music Macvernon produces, he has wholeheartedly infused his exceptional gift for rhyming and proved his musical aptitude in this particular song. Macvernon is an established dj. He has dj’ed and rhymed at various venues up and down the east coast from New York to Atlanta. He has performed with the legendary acts; African Bambata, Kool Herc, Melly Mel, and a then new artist named Fat Joe at the Bronx River Projects Recreation Center for the Zulu Nation Anniversary. All throughout the 90’s he has opened for and performed with several other premier artists, such as KRS-One, A Tribe Called Quest, The Fugees, and the Wu-Tang Clan. This veteran of the game and is intent on adding to his culture rhyme by rhyme, beat by beat, and cut by cut…..He likes to call himself the Curtis Mayfield of rap because his timeless raps are for the everyday brotha striving to come up.
