Andy Black began taking piano lessons at the ripe age of four, and has been singing the hymns of the faith for just as long. As the worship leader at First Friends Church in Salem, Ohio, Andy has found a passion for giving hymns a broader audience, arranging them and performing them so that their message and their tradition can travel with us as music does, while preserving their beautiful melodies and rich lyrics!

Andy's debut album, Life Anew, was born out of his desire to share his favorite hymn arrangements, and is a wonderful collaboration between his talents as an arranger, pianist, and vocalist. While most of the songs feature his pairing of piano and voice, Andy has invited several of his friends to lend their musical talents to this project, allowing him to utilize some rich harmonies and a variety of styles on this album.
