简介
Mary Allen has been singing since she exited the womb in 1991. She has been writing poetry and short stories starting just a little later. Her poetry and music came together with her first song at the age of sweet 16. She has been writing non-stop on piano, guitar, and ukelele since then. Her genre is pop/alternative. Blessed with a voice which mesmerizes, she has the ability to write both the musical and the lyrical hook. When she was 12 years old, she sounded 20 years older. Her lyrics are beyond her years as well. Mary's articulate verbal images will make you laugh and cry. Your heart will be bigger, your outlook be better as you listen and then sing along and hum this new music through your day....Her producer Jacob Lawson has known Mary since she was 6 years old when he started coming by the house to play music with her dad. Jacob has brought his fabulous talent and worked on this project like a member of the family. He brought a number of wonderful musicians into this project. The most well-known is certainly "Spooky Ghost", that is Gerry Leonard of David Bowie's band. Gerry played electric and acoustic guitars on this project, of course. Also playing are Scott Killian and Deidre Rodman on piano, Noah Hoffeld and Gary Tussing on Cello, Lindsay Jamieson on drums, Jon Natchez on horns and Bass clarinet, Tim Luntzel and Justin Carey on Bass, Jacob Lawson on violins, violas, harmony vocals, mandolin, percussion, and keyboards; Mary Allen on Ukelele and harmony vocals....This female alto is special in many ways. She may be the best new voice to arrive on the music scene in 2012-13. Listen and you will be hard pressed to disagree....Who does she sound like, you ask? It is hard to say because Mary Allen's voice is so uniquely beautiful but imperfect comparisons have been made to Sara Bareilles, a calm Jewel, Colbie Caillat, and Regina Spektor to name few. Come and listen and see Mary Allen who will soon take her place in the pantheon of wonderful female singer/songwriter artists.
